<p align="justify" style="color:#000;" >M.Tech. (Research) is a high-value two-years’ master's program focusing on nurturing talent for research-based quality employability. The core emphasis is on research from day one with a limited amount of coursework to prepare a student to develop adequate in-depth understanding of a foundational topic of today’s computing technology. The aim of the program is to attract the best talent from the pool of undergraduate students available for admission to a Masters program in the country in an academic year and train them to gain skills in cutting-edge research work in computer science.</p>
	  
	  
	  <h4>Students of this program will have:</h4>

	  <li>1. A coveted degree at par with globally reputed MS (R)/M.Tech (R) program in terms of quality and recognition.</li>

            <h3>Eligibility Criteria</h3>
            <ol>
              <li>B.E./B.Tech. in CSE/IT/ECE/EE, or an M.C.A., or an M.Sc. in Mathematics/Statistics</li>
<li>Percentage ≥ 75% or Equivalent Percentage
	<ul><li> Relaxation of 5% for candidates from reserved categories.</li></ul></li>
				<li>Mandatory GATE in CS/EC/EE/MATH/ST/DA</li>

            <h4>Relaxation:</h4>
            <p align="justify">IIIT-Delhi provides relaxation to SC, ST, OBC, PWD and CW category candidates. Specifically, candidates under these categories must have 60%. They must have at least 55% in all previous degree including 10+2. Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria will not be able to submit the application form.</p>
            <h4 >Important Note I (Conversion of CGPA to Percentage): </h4>
            <p align="justify">The applicants having grading scheme i.e. result in CGPA or equivalent grading, will be required to convert their CGPA to percentage according to the conversion formulae prevailing in their respective university/institute. In addition, the applicant must upload a certificate on the official letterhead from university/institute indicating the conversion from the CGPA to percentage. If the applicant's university/institute does not provide the conversion from CGPA to percentage, the conversion formulae will be "multiplication of CGPA by 10" to derive the percentage. For example, if CGPA is 7.5, the equivalent in percentage will be 7.5x10 = 75%. In this case, the applicant will be required to give an undertaking form which is available here.<br/>
              <br/>
            </p>
            <p align="justify" style="font-weight:bold;">Candidates in the final year of their programs and who expect to complete all their qualifying degree requirements before the date of registration are also eligible to apply for admissions. For shortlisting and selection purposes, their performance until the preceding semester (preceding year if their programs are year based) would be considered, but their admission would be provisional, subject to their meeting the minimum eligibility criteria after their final qualifying examination results are announced.

            <h3 >M.Tech. Research Assistantship</h3>
            <p align="justify">Rs. 21000/- per month <br/>
              Candidates will be eligible for M.Tech. (Research) Assistantship. GATE score above the qualifying marks announced by GATE in the respective year, i.e., 2022/2023/2024, will be considered valid. Assistantship for M.Tech. (Research) students will be paid through AICTE-Direct benefit transfer (DBT) to the student's account directly, at the rate of Rs. 12,400/- per month as per the approval of MHRD, Govt. of India for a maximum of 24 months from the date of starting of the classes at IIIT-Delhi. Institute will provide the necessary support to the students to get the assistantship.             <h4>The selection for M.Tech. (Research) admission will comprise of the following processes:</h4>
            
            <ul class="unordered-list">
              <li>Candidates who have a valid GATE score and meet the basic eligibility criteria will have to appear for the PGCAT IIITD Exam.
				  <ul><li><strong>Date of the PGCAT-IIITD Exam: 28th April 2024 (Sunday)</strong></li>

<li><strong>Venue of Examination: TBD</strong></li>
				  </ul>
				</li>
				
<li>The candidate <strong>meeting the basic eligibility criteria with a GATE score of 600 & above will be exempted</strong> from appearing in the PGCAT-IIITD Exam and directly called for an interview. (These candidates will be awarded the full marks for PGCAT-IIITD for preparation of the merit list)</li>
<li>A cut-off will be prepared for each category on the basis of performance in the PGCAT-IIITD Exam, and the candidates above this cut-off will be shortlisted for the interview.</li>
<li>A composite score will be prepared on the basis of performance in the PGCAT-IIITD Exam & Interview as decided by the admission committee, along with a cut-off for each category for preparing the merit list.</li>
<li>The Merit list with an All-India Rank (AIR) will be prepared on the basis of composite scores for the candidates above the cut-off.</li>
<li>Offer of admission will be made on the basis of All-India Rank (AIR).</li>
<li>Admit cards will be sent to the registered email-id of the candidates.</li>
<li>A Merit list with rank will be prepared on the basis of performance in the selection process and GATE score.</li>
<li>Offer of admission will be made on the basis of the rank.</li>

</ul>
            <p align="justify">*The Institute reserves the right to change the screening criteria for shortlisting and selection. The Institute also reserves the right to fill the seats fully or partially at its own discretion without assigning any reasons thereof.</p>

            <h3 >Seat Allotment Procedure</h3>
            
            <p align="justify">The seats will be allotted in the order of merit, as explained below. The allotment result will be available on the admission portal.</p>
            <h4>First Round of Seat Allotment</h4>
            <ul class="unordered-list">
              <li>Online Provisional Allotment will be shown in the candidate's login account on the IIIT Delhi website for the candidates who get an allotment in this round.</li>
 <li>All the candidates who get an allotment in this round will have to pay the admission fee of Rs. 1,65,334/- online, failing which his/her allotted seat will stand automatically canceled, and the candidate will not be considered for subsequent ONLINE rounds of seat allotment. </li>
 <li>Based on the number of candidates who accept the offer of admission in this round, the vacant seats will be made available for the 2nd round of seat allotment.</li>
 <li>The last date of acceptance of the offer for this round is mentioned in the important dates section on the website.</li>

</ul>
            <h4>Second Round of Seat Allotment</h4>
            <ul class="unordered-list">
              <li>All candidates in the merit list, who were not allotted any seats in the first round of seat allotment, are eligible for the second round. </li>
<li>Candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round of seat allotment and did not pay their admission fee are not eligible for the second round and will be out of the seat allotment process.</li>
<li>Candidates must visit the admission portal on important dates to know the results for the second round of seat allotment.</li>
<li>In this round, all eligible candidates MUST visit the admission portal, which can be accessed through their respective login ID as per important dates, to know the allotment of seats for him/her in this round.</li>
<li>Candidates who get an allotment in this round will have to pay the admission fee of Rs. 1,65,334/- online, failing which his/her allotted seat will stand automatically canceled, and the candidate will not be considered for subsequent ONLINE rounds of seat allotment.</li>
<li>The Last date of acceptance of the offer for this round is defined in the important dates section on the website.</li>

<h4>Thesis Supervisor: </h4>

<p align="justify">An offer of admission to the program will include a list of preferences for potential thesis supervisors. A candidate will have to indicate the preference before finally accepting the offer. Typically, a thesis allotment will be based on the merit list; e.g. a candidate with the highest merit rank will be allotted his first preference.</p>

			  <p><strong>For "M.Tech. (Research) in CSE" a student must do:</strong></p>
<ul class="unordered-list">
	<li>4 courses equivalent to 16 credits of CSE 500 level or above from the list of courses available at http://techtree.iiitd.edu.in/ or being offered in a semester.</li>
<li>M.Tech. (minor) thesis spanned over the first two semesters of the program with 4 credits registered in each of these semesters.</li>
<li>24 credits of M.Tech. thesis spanned over the second year of the program. </li>
			  </ul>
<p><strong>Change of supervisor may be allowed in some special circumstances before the second semester starts.</strong></p>

<h4>Placement Support:</h4>
<ul class="unordered-list">
	<li>The students of this program will have the same standard support for on-campus placement.</li>
<li>The students are allowed to take up internships in summer term with approval of the supervisor.</li>
<li>The placement cell of the institute will promote this program for research-based profiles as one with high value and quality training.</li>
	</ul>
	
<h4>Program completion:</h4>
<ul class="unordered-list">
	<li>Continuing Percentage of >= 70% in every semester. </li>
<li>There will be an academic warning sent to the student if the percentage falls below the minimum required.</li>
<li>Registration can be terminated if there are two subsequent warnings.</li>
<li>Completion of credit requirements.</li>
